Each of us is responsible for keeping Chesapeake College a safe community. To help with this effort, familiarize yourself with our “Care Assist Refer Education” team, or CARE.

CARE implements timely threat assessments and early interventions so that our safety is assured.

CARE depends on each of us to help in this effort and our formation is mandated by the Maryland Safe to Learn Act of 2018. Our multidisciplinary team resides under the direction of Public Safety at Chesapeake College.

REMEMBER—CARE does not replace emergency services! In an emergency, call 911 and our Department of Public Safety (410-758-7275  Wye Mills, 410-463-4185 Cambridge). Examples of emergencies include people threatening themselves or others; active shooters; aircraft crashes; bomb threats; chemical spills; crimes-in-progress; fires/explosions; hazardous gas leaks.
