SAIL to Success your First Semester!

Are you starting your first semester of college with six or more credit hours? If so, you’re eligible to enroll in SAIL—our Success and Interactive Learning program. SAIL is all about getting you connected to the college experience from day one, ensuring that you have access to the services and support you need to succeed. We believe that your success is our success!

Success Pays:
When you enroll in SAIL and chart a course for success, it pays off! Complete the program and finish the semester with a QPA (Quality Point Average) of at least 2.0 to earn a scholarship discount on your Spring semester tuition at Chesapeake College.

Here’s how SAIL can help finance your spring semester:

First-Generation’s Opportunity for Career & Ultimate Success (FOCUS)

Focused on Your Future!

FOCUS is a program specifically designed for first-time male students who are the first in their immediate family to attend college. If you’re enrolled in a career program, FOCUS offers intense academic support and career exploration activities during your first year.

Program Activities Include:

  • Academic planning
  • Weekly meetings every Wednesday at 2:30 p.m.
  • Career exploration (interest assessments, resume writing, interview skills workshops)
  • Leadership exercises
  • Awards, including book scholarships

Program Requirements:

  • First-time student
  • Male gender
  • Enrolled in at least three classes
  • Major in a career program

Helpful Information for Non-Traditional Students (HINTS)

HINTS is an online community created for non-traditional students (students aged 25+). Students can access links to important campus resources and information. The HINTS program also offers additional academic support in the areas of time management, study skills and technology.
