For children at all ages and stages, teachers and educators are one of the most important influencers on social and intellectual development, confidence, problem-solving, and life-skills. Education helps young people become adults, and as a teacher you can have a direct hand in shaping the future of our communities.
From infancy through high school, children depend on teachers to help them learn. You could work with infants and toddlers in a preschool or daycare setting, or teach young learners fundamental skills in elementary or middle school. Or, you could specialize in a specific subject, such as chemistry or Spanish, or support students with unique learning needs as a special educator.
Get started with your education career at Chesapeake College:
- Help very young children develop physical, social, and thinking skills that prepare them for future learning.
- Pursue a career in elementary education, working with children in lower grades to teach basic reading, writing, math, and science, as well as the learning skills and practices that set them up for success as they continue to grow.
- Take your passion for your favorite subject, and turn it into a career as a high school English, math, science, or languages instructor.
