Lifelong Learning Opportunities

Engaging Classes Designed for Seniors
Chesapeake College’s Division of Continuing Education and Workforce Training offers a wide range of classes specifically for seniors in Caroline, Dorchester, Kent, Queen Anne’s, and Talbot counties. With convenient locations at senior centers and community sites, seniors over 60 can explore subjects from healthy living and art to computer confidence in a friendly, social environment.

Students may register for classes at the sites listed below, or call the activity planner at the site. Not all classes are offered at every site; some counties have restrictions limiting who may attend at certain sites. For information, please contact us.

Classes are held during the day, lasting between one and two hours per session, and most classes meet once or twice a week. Each course runs for approximately 10 to 16 weeks, providing ample time for seniors to gain new skills, meet others, and enjoy learning in a relaxed environment.

Chesapeake College offers three terms each year to accommodate varying schedules and interests:

  • Term 1 (July-October)
  • Term 2 (November-February)
  • Term 3 (March-June).

Courses are offered in subjects that encourage both physical and creative engagement, such as yoga, fitness dance, computer confidence, and arts and crafts.

Classes are open to residents aged 60 and over from Caroline, Dorchester, Kent, Queen Anne’s, or Talbot counties. While most classes are accessible to all seniors in the region, some locations may have specific county restrictions. Seniors can register for classes either on-site at their chosen senior center or by calling the center’s activity planner.
