Foundational Training for a Skilled Trade
This Piping & Plumbing Level 1 course introduces students to the essentials of piping and plumbing systems in building construction. Covering safety, tools, basic math, and system drawings, this course provides a solid foundation for those entering the plumbing trade.

This program provides a comprehensive introduction to piping and plumbing, focusing on the skills needed for plumbing work in building construction. You’ll learn plumbing trade history, safety practices, use of personal protective equipment (PPE), essential tools, and math applications for plumbing. Additionally, this course introduces you to reading and interpreting plumbing system drawings and symbols, setting a solid foundation for more advanced skills in future levels.

This course is ideal for individuals interested in starting a career in the plumbing or piping trades. It’s especially suited for those looking to enter the construction industry or expand their skills in a high-demand field. If you have an interest in hands-on, technical work and enjoy solving practical problems, this program could be a great fit. No prior experience is required, so beginners are welcome!

Each part of the program runs multiple sessions over several weeks, with classes held in the evening to accommodate working students, beginning with Core Training for Skilled Trades.

THIS WILL BE A 4-YEAR PROGRAM. YEAR 1 BELOW:

CET 500 Piping & Plumbing Level 1, Part 1
This course (one is a series) introduces students to the skilled trade field of piping and plumbing systems in building construction. Technical training in the first half of Level 1 is comprised of plumbing trade history, safety, PPE, tools of the craft, basic math for plumbing and the introduction of drawings/symbols of plumbing systems.

CET 501 Piping & Plumbing Level 1, Part 2
This course (one is a series) introduces students to the skilled trade field of piping and plumbing systems in building construction. Technical training in the second half of Level 1 is comprised of working with various types of piping and fittings, fixture introduction, fundamentals of drain/waste/vent (DWV) systems and the basics of water distribution systems.

Part 1, Level 1 of this program starts in September each year. Courses are generally scheduled on weekday evenings, from 6pm-9pm.

Complete Core Training for Skilled Trades in time to register for the next cohort.

    The courses related to this program are available for Instant Enrollment through our online payment and registration system, but only AFTER you have completed the required prerequisites.
