This course will prepare you for a career as a legal transcriptionist. The legal transcriptionist has the important job of correctly transcribing and punctuating the spoken word in order to create a verbatim record for legal proceedings. This course will also give you an understanding of the legal system including relevant ethics, professional standards, and procedures, and prepare you to sit for and pass the AAERT Certified Electronic Transcriber exam.
The Legal Transcriptionist training course prepares you to enter the in-demand field of legal transcription with the skills and knowledge needed to be successful. As litigation continues to rise nationwide and the technology used to capture testimony evolves, there is a tremendous need for legal transcribers. Most legal transcriptionists work from home on contract or staff for court reporting agencies or court systems, which presents a substantial opportunity for those looking to work remotely in a career with a secure future.

      Payment is required at the time of registration for this program. This program may qualify for a scholarship (or voucher) from the Upper Shore Workforce Investment Board, or WIB. Please reach out to the WIB to inquire about funding, if necessary, before you start the registration process below.
