Ways to Pay

Payments can be made in person at Wye Mills or the Cambridge Center, by credit card (over the phone), or by mail with a check. If paying by check please include the name of the student and social security number or student identification number.

The College accepts VISA, MASTERCARD, AMERICAN EXPRESS or DISCOVER.

Payment Plans Available

Noncredit Tuition

Course tuition is determined by the legal residence of the student, with residents of Caroline, Dorchester, Kent, Queen Anne’s and Talbot counties paying in-county tuition. Please note the tuition for in-county, out-of-county, and out-of-state is designated within each course description that applies. All students, including seniors, pay the same tuition and fees for CES, AFC and FTW courses. Certain types of students may be eligible for reduced tuition.

We have substantial funding available to help cover training in the skilled trades and noncredit health professions.

Automatic Payment Plan

The Automatic Payment Plan allows you to spread your tuition payments over several months, making it easier to manage your finances. Students must complete the payment plan process before the first day of class.

Payments are processed on the 5th of each month and will continue until the balance is paid in full. You must have a minimum balance of $500.00 to budget through the automatic payment plan, with a minimum course length of two months.

Additional Payment Options

Employer Billed Tuition and Fees

Chesapeake College can bill your employer directly for your tuition and fees. To use this option, provide a company purchase order or a completed sponsorship authorization form at the time of registration. Include the employee’s name, Social Security number or student identification number, course number and title, and total amount of tuition, fees, and books (if applicable). Also include billing address and signature of person authorizing payment.

Students will not be confirmed in their classes until the College receives the above information. The standard refund/withdrawal policy will apply.

National Guard Members

If you are a member of the Maryland National Guard, you may be eligible for a 50 percent tuition discount on any Chesapeake College non-credit course, with the exception of courses designated CES, AFC, FTW or SWM in the course number.

All National Guard members must pay related course fees and any book expenses. To qualify for this discount, members must present a State Tuition Waiver Letter from their Unit Commander upon registration on a semester basis.

Senior Citizens Waiver

Maryland residents aged 60 or older can have their tuition waived for co-listed courses (those jointly listed as both credit and noncredit) if they register within two weeks prior to the start of the semester. Seniors wishing to register prior to this date must pay full tuition and fees.

Seniors registering for other noncredit courses, except those designated as CES, AFC, or FTW, will have tuition waived at any time. Proof of age required. Seniors are responsible for all applicable fees.

Social Security Disability Waiver

Students receiving Social Security payments based on a disability are eligible for a tuition waiver for both credit and noncredit classes (excluding CES, AFC, and FTW courses). The tuition waiver certification form must be completed, verified by a Social Security office, and submitted to the College before tuition can be waived, each semester. The student is responsible for paying the balance on their account in accordance with the College’s stated payment policies.

Lifetime Learning (Tax Credit)

Expenditures for Continuing Education courses may qualify for the LIFETIME LEARNING TAX CREDIT.

Under this program, a federal tax credit of 20 percent of the first $5,000 paid (up to $1,000) for qualified tuition and related expenses paid during the tax year for all students who are enrolled in eligible educational institutions.

This tax credit is limited by Adjusted Gross Income (AGI) and is available to all students, regardless of age, course-load, program of study, or academic year.

Payment Policies

Tuition and fee payments are due at the time of registration. Note that if payment is not received within 48 hours of registering online, you will be removed from the course roster.

All students, including senior citizens, must pay course fees, which may differ from course to course.

The College reserves the right to revise the tuition and fee structure without prior notice.

Availability of ACI Payment plans are determined by Chesapeake College. In general, payment plans are available for students enrolling in courses totaling at least $500 and lasting a minimum of two months. Please be aware the college may elect not to have payment plans available for all courses. Enrollment details and availability can be confirmed with the Business Office.
