Payment Due at Time of Registration
IMPORTANT INFORMATION
Most non-credit courses are designed for persons 16 years of age or older. Registrations not meeting this requirement will not be accepted UNLESS the course description clearly states that it is for the younger audience.
- Refunds: A full refund is available until the day before the first class. If Chesapeake College cancels a course, a full refund will be issued regardless of the date.
- Cancellations: Courses with insufficient enrollment may be cancelled, and all tuition and fees will be fully refunded.
Continuing Education Courses run varying lengths. Please check the start/end dates of the courses in the schedule and be sure to register early.
Many noncredit courses do not require textbooks. If a textbook is required, your instructor will inform you. If you are taking a co-listed course and a book is required, it should be available at the campus bookstore. If you are taking an online course, you should get information about required books and where to purchase them from your instructor or course documents.
The campus bookstore carries other college merchandise as well as textbooks. The bookstore maintains its own website, where you can check the current hours, or order books and/or other items. The bookstore on the Wye Mills Campus is located in the Caroline College Center.
As part of our mission to serve the citizens of the five-county Upper Shore area, Chesapeake College offers several co-listed courses. These are classes which are listed as both continuing education (non-credit) and as credit classes. Continuing education students will sit in the same classroom as credit students and have the same learning experience. Call 410-827-5850, for more information.
Expenditures for Continuing Education courses may qualify for the LIFETIME LEARNING TAX CREDIT.
Under this program, a federal tax credit of 20 percent of the first $5,000 paid (up to $1,000) for qualified tuition and related expenses paid during the tax year for all students who are enrolled in eligible educational institutions.
This tax credit is limited by Adjusted Gross Income (AGI) and is available to all students, regardless of age, course-load, program of study, or academic year.
See IRS Publication 970 or instructions for IRS Form 8863 for detailed information.
Please note that international students are not eligible for online registration and must register in person.
If you are registering for basic skills or ESL courses, an in-person registration and placement test are required. Visit the Adult Education webpages for more details.
