Chesapeake College has partnered with each public school system in its service region to offer Career & Technology Articulation agreements. These agreements facilitate a smooth transition from high school to college, allowing students to earn college credits for certain high school courses in eligible Career & Technology Education (CTE) pathways. Here’s how it works:

Who Can Join? To be eligible for this program, students must complete a Career & Technology eligible program of study in high school that aligns with a designated program of study at Chesapeake College. For example, a student who completed an Early Childhood Program in high school could earn free college credit by pursuing a degree or certificate in Early Childhood Development at Chesapeake.

How to Get Credits:

  1. Keep your grades up in high school CTE courses! Maintain a minimum GPA of 3.0 with no grade less than a “C” in the designated high school Career & Technology courses.
  2. Apply to Chesapeake College.
  3. Choose a related degree or certificate within 20 months of graduation.
  4. Fill out the Form for Evaluation of CTE Program Credits, ensuring all required signatures are obtained, and provide it to the advisor when scheduling first semester classes.
  5. Send your high school transcript after graduation.
  6. Complete the next required college articulated course in the program sequence at Chesapeake College with a grade of “C” or higher.

Getting Your Credits: Once you finish your college course, we check your grades. If everything looks good, we add your credits to your college record. Easy!
