Chesapeake’s application for admission is free, fast, easy—and you can save your progress as you go.

Chesapeake College has an open-door admission policy. Any person 18 years or older with a high school diploma or equivalent can take advantage of our academic opportunities. Dual enrollment options are also available for current high school students looking to take college courses while still in high school.

Getting started is easy! Create an account to complete our online application and then we’ll let you know exactly what steps to take next.

Special Populations

All credit students must complete the Application for Admission. However, certain students, such as International or Dual Enrollment students, may need to complete additional steps before enrolling in classes. Explore the relevant links below for more information.

Current high school students who want to earn college credits BEFORE they graduate should start by having a conversation with their school counselors first, then complete a Chesapeake application.

Find out more about Dual Enrollment.

Visiting (or transient) students are those who are already enrolled at another college or university and want to take summer or winter classes during break. Visiting students should still complete our online application first. You will be directed to submit a “Visiting Student Letter” from your home institution, granting permission to take courses at Chesapeake, and exempting you from any placement testing.

More information is available during the online application process.

If you are a veteran, currently enlisted or family connected to a service member, there may be special opportunities or requirements based on your circumstances. Please reach out to Cindy Welzel at [email protected] for information specific to veterans.

Explore our Veterans page for more details.

Come of our Health Professions programs require a supplemental, competitive application process, in addition to completing the general Chesapeake College application. Details and links to each of the program-specific applications can be found on the following program pages: Nursing, Emergency Medical Services (EMS), Physical Therapist Assistant, Radiologic Sciences, and Surgical Technology.

Chesapeake College welcomes DACA students and non-US Citizens. All DACA and undocumented students should proceed with our online application process, linked above.

International students hoping to obtain a F-1 visa to study at Chesapeake should contact Admissions before applying. A passing TOEFL score is required before obtaining a fillable college application, and students must secure housing with a local sponsor, such as a close relative or other responsible individual. Chesapeake does not have on-campus housing.
