Chesapeake College is a comprehensive public two-year regional community college serving the educational needs of the residents of Caroline, Dorchester, Kent, Queen Anne's and Talbot counties on Maryland's Upper Eastern Shore. The college offers academic programs leading to the Associate of Arts, Associate of Science, Associate of Applied Science, and Associate of Arts in Teaching degrees, as well as basic and advanced Certificates and Letters of Recognition.

  • Associate of Arts (AA) degrees typically recognize a curricular focus in the liberal arts, humanities and fine arts and are primarily intended for transfer to a four-year institution of higher education.
  • Associate of Science (AS) degrees typically recognize a curricular focus in scientific and technical studies. They, too, are primarily intended for transfer, but may also provide technical knowledge and skills applicable to enter or advance in a career field.

  • While the Associate of Applied Science (AAS) degree recognizes a curricula focus on a specific occupational area and is primarily intended for immediate employment in the field, it may also provide opportunities for continued education in an appropriate Bachelor of Science or Bachelor of Technology program at a four-year institution.
  • Degree programs include both discipline and general education courses, range from 60-70 credit hours, and typically take a minimum of two years to complete.
